Job StoryOur lab is seeking self-motivated students with strong problem-solving skills to support research on robotic additive manufacturing and gain applied learning experience. This position is non-benefit eligible, regardless of student level.
Job Summary:
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job Duties:
- Support research on robotic additive manufacturing
- Enroll in the applied learning zero-credit course
- Undergraduate students: Enroll in 481i (CRN 10276 for engineering students)
- Graduate students: Enroll in 781i (CRN10277 for engineering students)
- Complete the applied learning course requirements in Blackboard
Required Education:
High School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Wichita State University.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be eligible for applied learning
- Minimum GPA of 2.75 Availability to work 10 hours per week
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and initiative
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Willingness to learn and practice
Required Experience:
This is specific to each position and department. See additional requirements and preferences.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
