Quantum Engineer - Artificial Intelligence and Devices

Overview In this role you will develop scalable AI-driven data-analysis and automation for quantum-device research, collaborating with researchers to integrate ML models into control environments. You’ll contribute to reproducible experimental workflows and communicate solutions to stakeholders. The position sits at the intersection of quantum engineering and AI, offering a chance to shape experimental platforms and data-driven methodologies within Microsoft Quantum. Responsibilities Build and improve automation pipelines for quantum-device data analysis and experiments Apply modern AI/ML methods to quantum-device characterization and analysis of complex data Partner with researchers and engineers to integrate ML models into simulation and control environments Contribute to scalable, reproducible experimental analysis workflows and take ownership as projects mature Document and present technical solutions to internal and external stakeholders Demonstrate alignment with culture and values Key requirements Bachelor's in Physics, Engineering, or related field with 6+ years of relevant experience, OR Master's with 4+ years, OR Doctorate with 1+ year, or equivalent Ability to meet security/background checks and export-control screening Experience leveraging AI tools to drive innovation and efficiency Ability to design AI agents/copilots to assist with experiments and knowledge retrievalcross-disciplinary collaborationstrong communicationproblem-solving PythonC++artificial intelligence / machine learning methods
