The Seppic Inc manufacturing site, opened in 2020, is located near Richmond, Virginia, USA. The plant specializes in producing ingredients for cosmetic and pharmaceutical products. It has enhanced our proximity to our North American customers and increased our manufacturing capabilities worldwide. Its overall concept was designed to incorporate the highest levels of manufacturing quality for cosmetic and pharmaceutical ingredients. All of the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are integrated at the product flow level as well as at the individual flow level. The units, all outfitted with a self-cleaning system, are fully automated for consistent and easily traceable quality. The plant has been designed with a minimal-waste or emission objective. The best available techniques were used to reduce waste and emissions to a strict minimum at their origin. The principles of recycling have been systematically adopted and final discharge treatment systems have been installed at the vent and waste-water levels to ensure there is minimal impact on the environment. The facility has obtained ISO 9001:2015, EFfCI and RSPO certification.
Role Responsibilities:
Operate and perform repairs of the following utilities: steam boiler/equipment, condensate equipment, chilled and cooling water equipment, air compressor/dryer and other industrial equipment.
All repairs will be performed following HSE SOP’s (including but not limited to Safe Work Permit, LOTO permit, Work at Height Permit, Hot Work Permit and Respiratory Guidelines)
Operate and perform repairs to Production and Facility equipment including, but not limited to, Pumps (various types), VFD’s, Instruments, Powder Transfer Systems, air and solenoid operated valves, gearboxes, HMI’s, Agitators, heat exchangers, dryers, reactors, forklifts, pH measuring equipment, fume hoods, HVAC systems, bag filling stations, packaging equipment, EIS, fire systems etc.
Coordinate maintenance of equipment (listed above) with equipment area owners
Repair faulty equipment units & damaged structures including technical issues
Provide training of other technicians
Perform and properly document Preventative Maintenance as assigned for prescribed frequencies (including oil changes, belt changes and alignment, lubrication, visual inspections, checklists, functionality testing, filter changes, etc.)
Adherence to GMP policies and procedures
Properly maintain inventory systems and proactively request necessary items
Fabrication - including, but not limited to, cutting, forming/ bending, welding, assembly and finishing.
Supports additional business priorities and team goals as assigned.
RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent (required)
2+ years experience in a chemical manufacturing technician role
Certificate in HVAC or Journeyman’s card (license), building maintenance technology or relevant field (Preferred)
Position is located in Sandston VA (near Richmond)
Knowledge of reading & using technical documentation (P&ID’s, manuals, tech bulletins, etc.) to solve issues, identifying parts needed, as well as identifying the correct course of action
Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques
Physically capable of wearing a respirator - including being clean shaven at a moments notice to don respiratory protective equipment
Work overtime and be on call (weekends, evening, holidays)
Excellent written & verbal communication skills along with effective problem-solving abilities

Continuous learner and willingness to cross-train across disciplines
NFPA 70E certification
MEWP certification (boom lift, scissor lift)
