About the role

We are currently looking for a seasoned professional to step into a Senior Estimator or Chief Estimator role. We require someone with at least a decade of expertise in industrial fabrication to become a key member of our staff. The perfect candidate will possess a robust history of managing industrial and steel fabrication estimates, including the ability to analyze complex specifications, generate precise project budgets, and collaborate effectively with production staff, engineering teams, vendors, and clients. Core Duties Generate comprehensive bids and cost estimates for various industrial fabrication assignments. Analyze project requirements, technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Determine precise expenses related to materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead. Perform quantity takeoffs and define production requirements and fabrication hours to ensure project success. Solicit and analyze pricing from subcontractors and material suppliers. Engage with project stakeholders and clients to ensure full clarity on project scope and technical details. Detect potential cost variances, project risks, and gaps in the scope of work. Draft profitable and competitive proposals for executive review. Collaborate across departments including purchasing, production, project management, and engineering. Monitor estimating metrics to help refine and optimize our internal procedures. Mentor junior team members to foster professional growth and leadership within the department. Keep detailed documentation of project data, historical costs, pricing, and bid records. Support the team by performing cost analysis and pricing for change orders. Guarantee that all estimates are delivered on time and maintain a high level of accuracy and competitiveness.
Required Qualifications: A minimum of 10 years of professional experience specifically within industrial fabrication estimating. Deep understanding of materials and industrial fabrication workflows. Demonstrated history of estimating custom components, platforms, skids, equipment, pipe, sheet metal, and structural steel. Expertise in interpreting engineering blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings. Solid grasp of shop capabilities, fabrication techniques, material pricing, and labor hour estimation. Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving capabilities. Effective negotiation and communication skills to facilitate successful project outcomes. High proficiency in estimating software and the Microsoft Office suite.
