About the role

Job Description: Action Bullet Resistant, a leader in UL 752–certified bullet-resistant windows, doors, and wall systems, is seeking a skilled Hardware Installation Specialist to join our shop team. This position is ideal for someone with locksmith experience or a strong background in installing commercial door hardware, hinges, closers, panic devices, deadbolts, strikes, and access-control components. If you take pride in precision, craftsmanship, and building products that protect lives, you'll fit right in.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and prep hardware for ballistic doors, frames, and specialty systems
  • Read and interpret shop drawings, hardware schedules, and layout sheets
  • Assemble, fit, and modify aluminum and steel components as needed
  • Perform accurate measurements, drilling, tapping, and routing for hardware sets
  • Collaborate with shop supervisors to ensure products meet quality and safety standards
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Assist with general fabrication tasks when needed Experience
  • Locksmithing (commercial or institutional)
  • Commercial door hardware installation (panic bars, closers, continuous hinges, electric strikes, etc.)Metal fabrication or glazing shop experience
  • Ability to read blueprints and hardware templates
  • Understanding of basic hand/power tools, measurements, and tolerances
  • Comfortable troubleshooting hardware fitment issues
Requirements:
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods
