Located in Spokane Valley, WA, this community hospital has 123 beds and serves as a Level 3 Trauma Center. It employs a team of dedicated professionals committed to providing excellent patient care.
General Information:
Emergency Department: 21 beds, 8 hallway beds, 5 fast track beds, and 4-12 outpatient overflow beds (secondary fast track).
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years in Emergency Department required; 5 years preferred in specialty. First-time travelers are accepted. Patient TypesThe patient population includes: Geriatric patients Abdominal pain Chest pain StrokePsychiatric issues Respiratory conditions 15% pediatric cases Patient RatiosThe nurse-to-patient ratio is set at 1:4, organized in pods with 8 patients between 3 nurses.

- Candidates must possess the following:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)CPI or MOAB (Crisis Prevention Institute or Management of Assaultive Behavior)NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
- Support on the Unit
Technicians with phlebotomy licenses, available for peripheral sticks: 3 on days (7a-7p), 3 on nights (7p-7a), and 1 on 1-1.Receptionist and HUC: 24/7 coverage.
Charge nurse available 24/7.Phlebotomy services provided by ER techs and lab, available 24/7.IV/VAT Team: Many ER nurses trained in ultrasound-guided IVs, with an additional VAT team available weekdays from 8 AM to 4:30 PM.Respiratory therapy available 24/7.Hospitalist coverage available 24/7.Telemetry monitoring provided both at the bedside and at the nursing station.

Orientation & Scheduling
New staff will undergo a comprehensive 1-week orientation which includes:

Skills check-off
General site overview2-3 precepted shifts
Shift schedules will be provided during the application process, with weekend rotations occurring every other week and the expectation to work 1 holiday per contract. Requests for time off (RTO) can be approved up to 7 days.

The facility does not have a cardiac catheterization lab; all cardiac catheterization patients are transferred to designated facilities.
