Assembly Test Technician - Repair & Overhaul

Based in Yakima, WA, Triumph Actuation and Landing Gear Systems designs, manufactures, assembles, tests, and provides MRO services for aerospace products and systems that include hydraulic actuators, hydraulic valves and manifolds, hydraulic fuses, and repeatable release holdback bars and employs more than 240 employees. Triumph Actuation Products and Services - Yakima is an industry leader in landing gear actuation, providing actuation components to every major aircraft manufacturer. Triumph Actuation Products and Services - Yakima is also the sole supplier of the critical repeatable release holdback bars used for launching US Navy fighter jets from aircraft carriers. With its thriving wine industry, stunning scenic drives, and rich Native American heritage, Yakima invites visitors to immerse themselves in its diverse offerings and welcoming community, blending tradition with modern Test Technician / Repair & Overhaul Department This position is subject to annual shift rotations between 1st and 3rd shifts. 3rd Shift Premium: 15% of your base salary added to regularly determined earnings for all work performed. Availability to work overtime which may include occasional weekends.
Essential Functions: Perform all mechanical assembly, functional tests, test setups, and finish operations on product line per blueprints and planning with little to no supervision. Perform functional tests in such a manner to maximize quality and productivity while simultaneously working on multiple machines. Determine the sequence of assembly operations in conjunction with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Control to optimize the process and achieve maximum productivity and quality. Identify functional test applications suitable for computer automation and other opportunities for methods improvement. Determine cause and corrective action through failure analysis in conjunction with Design Engineering and Quality Control. Maintain orderly and retrievable records of work performed and complete records of test setups, shop books, photos, and procedures. Work with hazardous chemicals such as: Acetone, Alcohol, HFE-72DE, paints, sealants, bonding solvents paint stripper, solvents, and paint thinners. May involve prolonged exposure to caustic oils such as Aerospace Hydraulic Fluid. Some heavy lifting required. Set up and conduct tests and experiments on components and complete units to evaluate design characteristics and performance of test items.
Qualifications: Minimum Education and Experience Requirements High school diploma or GED required General mechanical knowledge or background required. Knowledge of advanced hydraulic and electro-hydraulic theory and formula preferred. Assembly Test Technician I Meets minimum education and mechanical knowledge requirements Assembly Test Technician II Two years of hands-on mechanical assembly experience, or two years of proven proficiency in a similar industrial environment Skills & Competencies: Safe use of hand/power tools. Ability to follow instruction. (Oral and/or written). Ability to read and interpret blueprints and hydraulic diagrams is a plus. Intermediate computer skills. Willing to work in team environment and participate in team process improvement discussions/projects. Must be able to work overtime which may include occasional weekends. Position Pay Range: $20.62 – $27.00 Per Hour.
