Tier III Helpdesk IT Support
Location: Springfield, VA (onsite)
Clearance: Active TS/SCI required; must be willing to obtain a polygraph
About the Role: We're looking for a Linux Systems Administrator to provide Tier III operations and maintenance support for a federal IT support team. This role owns the most complex incidents on the help desk's escalation chain, working directly with developers and vendors to drive root-cause resolution, while also maintaining the system documentation and security evidence needed to support audits.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide O&M support for one or more applications; resolve complex incidents/problems and perform root-cause analysis
  • Perform Tier 2/3 troubleshooting, coordinate with developers and vendors, and drive escalations through closure with clear status updates
  • Author and maintain SOPs, runbooks, knowledge articles, and configuration baselines, keeping documentation aligned to production behavior
  • Coordinate enhancement testing execution (UAT logistics, test evidence, defect triage) and maintain test scripts prior to scheduled testing windows
  • Support audits by compiling access/configuration evidence, validating user/role listings, and maintaining system security documentation
Required Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Willingness to obtain a polygraph
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
