Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications And Experience High school diploma or GED required Associate's degree or college coursework in Education, Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field preferred Candidates currently enrolled in an accredited degree or educator preparation program are encouraged to apply Prior experience working with elementary-age students in a school, camp, after-school, or youth program setting preferred Experience with STEM activities, robotics, coding, or technology tools (e.g., LEGO Education, Scratch, Code.org) preferred but not required; willingness to learn and be trained is essential Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs preferred Ability to work cooperatively and professionally as part of a team alongside the Amazon Master Trainer and school staff Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive, encouraging relationships with elementary students Patience, flexibility, and enthusiasm for hands-on, inquiry-based learning Basic comfort with technology tools; willingness to learn and use educational technology platforms, robotics kits, and coding tools Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for managing lab materials and equipment Ability to work with students across multiple grade levels (PreK–5) with differentiated levels of support Dependability, punctuality, and professional conduct consistent with district expectations
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
  • Work alongside the Amazon Master Trainer to co-facilitate STEM lessons and activities that are aligned to grade- level standards and the Amazon Think Big Corner curriculum framework
  • Actively engage students in hands-on STEM learning experiences, including robotics, coding, engineering design challenges, science investigations, and technology-based projects
  • Support student participation by providing scaffolded guidance, encouragement, and redirection as needed to keep students on task and productively engaged throughout STEM activities
  • Reinforce grade-level content connections between STEM activities and classroom instruction in science, math, and technology
  • Model curiosity, persistence, and a growth mindset for students as they engage in challenging, open-ended problem- solving tasks
  • Facilitate student teamwork and collaborative learning during STEM challenges and design projects, supporting positive group dynamics and equitable participation
  • Assist in setting up, organizing, and breaking down STEM lab materials, equipment, robotics kits, and technology tools before and after each session
Maintain an inventory of lab supplies, materials, and equipment; notify the school Principal or designee when supplies need replenishment or equipment requires repair. Ensure all LEGO, robotics, and technology equipment is properly handled, stored, and accounted for in accordance with district and Amazon program guidelines Maintain a clean, safe, and organized lab environment that encourages student exploration while ensuring the safety of all participants Follow all district policies and Amazon program protocols related to the use, care, and security of Think Big Corner equipment and materials Review lesson plans, activity guides, and curriculum materials provided by the Amazon Master Trainer in advance of each STEM session to be fully prepared to support instruction Assist with differentiated support for students at varying skill levels, ensuring all students — including those with IEPs, ELL students, and advanced learners — have access to meaningful participation in STEM activities Support the integration of computational thinking, coding concepts, and engineering design processes across grade- level STEM experiences Assist in documenting student engagement, participation, and project outputs as requested by the Amazon Master Trainer or school leadership Participate in all required Amazon Think Big Corner training sessions, orientations, and professional development to stay current on program curriculum and expectations Support positive behavior management during STEM lab sessions, using proactive strategies to maintain a focused, respectful, and inclusive learning environment Communicate any student concerns, behavioral issues, or safety incidents immediately to the school Principal Build positive, encouraging relationships with students to foster confidence and excitement about STEM learning Collaborate with the Amazon Master Trainer, School STEM Ambassador, classroom teachers, and school leadership to plan, organize, and execute the school's annual STEM Night — a family-facing event that showcases student STEM learning through interactive demonstrations, exhibits, and hands-on activities Assist in coordinating all logistics for STEM Night, including setup, student project displays, activity stations, materials preparation, volunteer coordination, and communications to families and community partners Support the planning and facilitation of STEM Celebrations at the school level, recognizing student achievement, highlighting project-based learning outcomes, and promoting a culture of STEM excellence across the district's elementary schools Assist in designing and coordinating STEM Celebration activities that are inclusive of all grade levels and reflect student work completed in the Amazon Think Big Corner throughout the year Serve as a support assistant for the district's elementary robotics team, working alongside the Amazon Master Trainer and the School STEM Ambassador to prepare students for robotics competitions and showcases Help coach students in the engineering design process, computational thinking, and collaborative problem-solving skills required for robotics competitions Assist with logistics for robotics team participation in tournaments, competitions, and public showcases, including equipment transportation, setup, and student supervision as needed Support coordination logistics for class scheduling, student group rotations, and lab session preparation across grade levels Partner with the School STEM Ambassador on districtwide STEM initiatives, program alignment, and community outreach efforts connected to the Amazon Think Big Corner program. Perform other duties as assigned by the school Principal or Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction
