PRIMARY FUNCTIONThe Superintendent (for Commercial Plumbing, HVAC, SheetMetal) is responsible for managing onsite teams, job site logistics and safetycompliance. In addition to supervisory responsibility, this position isresponsible for directly performing a wide range of skilled construction tasksdealing with (plumbing, HVAC, Sheet Metal) and other (piping system operations)depending on the project.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide on-site supervision of commercial (plumbing, HVAC, SheetMetal) crews
Promote and monitor safety of all aspects at all times
Work proactively with subcontractors, foremen, tradesmen and generalcontractor to remove obstacles and promote efficiency
Plan, schedule, and coordinate on-site functions
Perform material take-offs, ordering tools, materials and equipmentin a timely fashion to maximize field productivity
Responsible for quality installation of (plumbing, HVAC, SheetMetal) activities
Coordinate, inspect and track all deliveries and track againstshipping documents
Coordinate labor and equipment for loading, unloading anddistribution of material on site
Forecast labor needs to foremen, based upon anticipated deliveries
Responsible for directly performing a wide range of skilledconstruction tasks
Coordinate and manage all composite cleanup crew efforts
Monitor daily activities and compile reports on progress, compliance, and obstacles
Enforce safety and legal regulations to ensure a safe job site
Communicate with subcontractors and field staff to ensure adherenceto schedules, plans, and specifications
Management, inspection and upkeep of project shared tools
Record and monitor inventory of tools and material, with supportfrom Foremen
Maintain cleanliness of trailer, work area and material storage area
Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS10+ years of commercial experience in trade specific (plumbing, HVAC, Sheet Metal) operations field; or equivalent combination ofvocational training and experience
Extensive knowledge of (plumbing, HVAC, Sheet Metal) systemsinstallation
Previous knowledge of man hour reports, job cost reports, workforceplanning and estimating
Ability to learn construction cost control, forecasting and settinggoals
Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work across varied disciplines
Knowledge of other mechanical trade disciplines
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients andcolleagues
Must be able to multi-task, workwith minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, showattention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills
Must adhere to all company policy and procedures
Must be available, and have the means to report to multiple jobsites as assigned
The work environment andphysical demands required would be representative of those that must be met byan employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, andmay include, but are not limited to the following:
WORK ENVIRONMENTMay work in varying temperatures; both inside and outside, includinginclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and dampness
May work in areas with exposure to moderate/high noise levels
May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including dust
May be required to work in confined spaces or from heights
This role routinely uses construction equipment such as heavymachinery, hand and power tools
While performing duties of the job the employee may work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods of time andlift to 50 lbs.
Frequently required to use tools or controls; and reach with handsand arms
Must be able to correctly identify all colors of a color-codedcable/wires and see close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus
