Shift:

Provide safe and comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in the Operating Room.
Function as an OR RN throughout the perioperative process, including patient preparation, intraoperative care, and post-procedure support.
Provide specialized nursing care for neurosurgical procedures, particularly brain and spine cases.
Prepare the OR, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies according to procedure requirements.
Assist surgeons and the surgical team during procedures while maintaining strict sterile technique.
Monitor patient condition throughout the surgical procedure and communicate changes promptly.
Safely administer medications and treatments according to orders and facility protocols.
Assist with positioning patients appropriately and safely for surgical procedures.
Operate and assist with specialized surgical technology and equipment as trained, including MAZOR, Stealth Navigation, O-Arm, and ROSA systems.
Maintain accurate surgical documentation and patient records in Epic.
Perform appropriate counts of instruments, needles, sponges, and other surgical supplies.
Follow infection-control, surgical safety, and sterile-technique standards.
Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other members of the perioperative team.
Assist with emergency situations and unexpected changes during surgery.
Maintain patient safety and comply with hospital policies, procedures, and Virginia healthcare standards.
Support a variety of surgical specialties when needed, including orthopedic, vascular, urology, thoracic, bariatric, oncology, plastics, breast, and trauma procedures.
