In this role, you'll deliver high-quality medical-surgical nursing, including comprehensive assessments, medication administration, wound care, and coordination of care for diverse adult patients. You will collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, document in the EHR, and educate patients and families. Provide direct medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients in an acute care setting Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor conditions Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per provider orders Document care accurately in the electronic health record Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members on care plans Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and discharge instructions Follow infection control, safety, and hospital policies and procedures Adapt quickly to new units and workflows as a travel nurse Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and families Participate in shift handoffs and maintain accurate reporting Medical-surgical nursing Patient assessment IV therapy and medication administration xevrcyc Electronic health records (EHR) documentation Care planning and coordination Wound care management Telemetry monitoring basics Patient and family education Infection control practices Time management and prioritization Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Active RN license (Louisiana or compact) BLS certification ACLS certification preferred Minimum 1 year recent MedSurg experience Travel nursing experience preferred
