DevOps Engineer

Responsibilities: Administering, configuring, and integrating the Jira SaaS for government cloud within ourenterprise technology ecosystem. Consolidating our collaborative planning tool transitioning from Azure Dev Ops (on-premises) and Git Lab (on-premises) to Jira Atlassian Government Cloud (AGC) SaaS for government. Building robust, automated, and secure integrations between Jira SaaS for governmentand core enterprise systems (e.g., Service Now, Git Lab), enabling end-to-end visibilityacross planning, development, and operations Jira Administration & Engineering Administer, configure, and optimize Jira SaaS to meet enterprise project managementand Agile delivery needs. Design and maintain custom workflows, issue types, screens, fields, and automationrules aligned with organizational Agile frameworks and guidelines. Manage user permissions, group roles, and security schemes to ensure governance andcompliance. Monitor Jira license utilization, user growth, and application usage to ensure efficient useof subscriptions. Collaborate with procurement teams to support renewal, optimization, and budgetdecisions. System Integration & Development Design, implement, and maintain seamless integrations between Jira and otherenterprise systems, such as Git Lab (source control & CI/CD), and Service Now (ITSM), using Okta, REST APIs, webhooks, middleware, and scripting. Automate data synchronization across platforms to support traceability from planning torelease. Troubleshoot and optimize integration pipelines to ensure performance, security, and scalability. Partner with infrastructure and cybersecurity teams to align integrations with enterprisesecurity and compliance standards. Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and best practices. Agile Enablement Partner with the Agile Transformation Office to translate Agile practices into effective Jiraconfigurations and usage patterns. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Scrum Masters, Product Owners, andteams on best-practice tool utilization. Support reporting and analytics initiatives, ensuring reliable Agile metrics (velocity, burndown, cycle time, etc.).Support and enable teams to transition from Azure Dev Ops Boards, Gitlab, Jira (hosted)to JIRA SaaS.

Required Qualifications: Three (3+) years of hands-on experience administering and/or engineering Jira (Self-hosting or SaaS).Proven, hands-on experience developing custom integrations with enterprise platforms, especially Git Lab and Service Now. Hands-on experience with mailbox migrations andhybrid deployments At least four (4) years of experience in Dev Ops Engineering. At least two (2) years of experience with Cloud Native technologies (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform).At least two (2) years of Unix or Linux system administration experience. Proficiency in scripting (Python, Power Shell, or Java Script) and REST API integration. Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and Dev Sec Opsprinciples. Experience in enterprise migrations from Azure Dev Ops or similar tools to Jira CitizenshipUS Citizenship

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Experience serving as the engineer of complex technology implementations in aproduct-centric environment. Deploying and configuring services using infrastructure as a service provider (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Compute Engine, Rack Space/Open Stack).Configuring and managing Linux-based servers. Debugging cluster-based computing architectures. Installation and management of open-source monitoring tools. Architecture for continuous integration and deployment, and continuous monitoring. Containerization technologies (e.g., LXC, Docker, Rocket).Preferred Familiarity with Atlassian ecosystem (Confluence, Bitbucket, Atlassian Government Cloud) and marketplace apps. Experience working in a Dev Sec Ops or Platform Engineering environment. Experience with information security, privacy, and risk assessment standards includingFISMA, SOX, FedRAMP, etc. is preferred. Federal government experience is preferred. Certificates Atlassian Certified Professional (ACP-620, ACP-120, or equivalent) preferred. Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (orequivalent experience).
