Technical Director

Salary Range: $95,000-$125,000 / Year, DOE + Overtime

Responsibilities: Lead the technical planning and execution of large-scale live events, including corporate meetings, technology events, investor meetings, and high-end social productions Develop and oversee production schedules, technical specifications, drawings, and execution plans Translate creative concepts into technically sound, scalable, and cost-effective production solutions Coordinate vendors, equipment sourcing, logistics, and technical resources from pre-production through event completion Manage production budgets while maintaining exceptional quality, safety, and audience experience standards Utilize Vectorworks and other production tools to create, review, and communicate technical plans Partner closely with clients and internal teams to confidently address technical requirements, challenges, and production decisions Collaborate across departments to ensure every element of an event is aligned and delivered successfully

Requirements: 8+ years of experience in technical direction, live event production, theatrical production, or a closely related environment Strong technical expertise with technical direction serving as the foundation of your experience Required proficiency with Vectorworks Bachelor's degree required, ideally in Theatrical Design, Production Design, or a related discipline Demonstrated experience managing production schedules, technical specifications, vendors, equipment, and budgets Experience supporting sophisticated, large-scale events with significant technical and creative requirements Strong client-facing communication skills with the confidence to provide technical guidance and build trust Collaborative, team-oriented approach with respect for experienced colleagues and an openness to different perspectives Ability to remain composed, organized, and solutions-focused during long, fast-paced production days Flexibility to work hours dictated by live event and project schedules Medical insurance options with increasing employer contributions based on tenure 401(k) plan with employer contribution eligibility Potential employer profit-sharing contributions to retirement PTO with increased vacation based on tenure Paid holidays and additional company closures Overtime compensation for qualifying hours
