The Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence within the faculty, staff, and student body. The department is currently seeking candidates for faculty positions in Speech-Language Pathology.
We seek candidates committed to multidisciplinary investigation with a mission to develop a comprehensive program of translational research related to dysphagia and who are also committed to building an independent research program, obtaining independent funding, providing mentoring/training, and performing university and community service. Program development will enhance and support an existing, and highly developed community of basic, translational, and clinical investigators within the Gleiberman Head and Neck Cancer Center at UC San Diego.
Selected candidate(s) will lead a research program focused on the biology, etiology, and treatment of dysphagia, including but not limited to dysphagia associated with head and neck cancer and treatment-related sequelae. The position also includes clinical service, teaching, mentoring and training, and contributions to university and community service. If appropriate, there may be opportunities to engage with partner programs, including the San Diego State University/University of California San Diego Joint PhD Program in Language and Communicative Disorders and San Diego State University’s clinical training program in Speech-Language Pathology.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s background and experience.
