Controller Position Summary:
The Accountant I is responsible for assisting the accounting department in creating accurate and timely financial records for the Company. Additionally, the Accountant I is responsible for various daily, weekly and monthly tasks. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Track and maintain fixed assets associated with large capital projects, including monitoring project expenditures and ensuring assets are properly recorded and placed in service. Track fixed assets associated with small capital projects, ensuring additions, transfers, and disposals are accurately documented and recorded. Reconcile car wash credit card transactions weekly, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner. Import and reconcile air vacuum revenue, ensuring revenue is accurately recorded and agrees with supporting documentation. Import and reconcile coupon activity, researching and resolving discrepancies as needed. Prepare and maintain month-end reporting and account reconciliations in accordance with established accounting procedures and deadlines. Reconcile all prepaid accounts, ensuring balances are accurate and properly supported. Perform other accounting duties and special projects as assigned.
Key Competencies:
Critical-thinking and strong problem-solving skills Financial acumen Strong oral and written communication, organizational and follow up skills Proficient use of Excel, Word, Outlook and other software tools including retail accounting software system
Education and Experience:
Four-year degree in accounting or equivalent experience preferred Previous experience in fixed assets, retail accounting, and inventory is a plus
Technical Skills:
Proficient computer skills are needed. Microsoft Office programs, email and other company internal and external software programs. Experience with PDI platform helpful. Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Position Type/ Expected Hours of work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, consisting of 40 hours and may participate in the company flex schedule.
Travel: This position does not require regular travel outside of the office.
