Role Description:
The Director of Grants Management – Finance is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing the financial lifecycle of grants, from proposal budgeting through final reporting. This position leads the development and monitoring of grant budgets, ensures accurate and timely financial reporting to funders, and maintains compliance with grant terms and organizational policies. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing financial statements related to grants, analyzing financial data to support decision-making, collaborating with program and development teams on grant applications, and implementing financial controls for grant funds. The Director also manages grant-related audits, maintains documentation and systems for tracking grant revenues and expenditures, and provides strategic financial guidance to leadership to optimize funding opportunities and sustainability.
Qualifications:
Strong finance and financial planning skills, including experience developing and managing grant budgets. Proficiency in financial statements and financial reporting, with the ability to prepare, review, and interpret grant-related financial documents. Advanced analytical skills applied to grant performance, funding projections, and financial risk assessment. Experience in grants management within nonprofits or philanthropic organizations, including compliance and audit readiness. Knowledge of accounting principles and familiarity with financial or grant management software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-finance stakeholders. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple grants and deadlines remotely. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certification (e.g., CPA, CGMS) is a plus.
