Counsel - Derivatives & Trading

Key responsibilities include: Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a broad range of trading and financing agreements, including derivatives documentation, repurchase agreements, prime brokerage agreements, and futures-related agreements Managing counterparty onboarding processes and ongoing relationship documentation Advising internal stakeholders on commercial and legal considerations within trading documentation and facilitating negotiations across business teams Tracking and managing documentation workflows, improving internal processes, and helping enhance operational efficiency Supporting business teams on legal and regulatory inquiries related to trading and investment activities Collaborating across legal, compliance, and investment functions while exercising strong judgment on escalation and risk management matters The ideal candidate will have: A J.D. and at least 3 years of relevant legal experience Experience negotiating trading and derivatives documentation at a leading law firm or in-house legal department Strong familiarity with ISDA documentation, repurchase agreements, and prime brokerage agreements Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail The ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environmentA practical, solutions-oriented approach and a collaborative working style Please reach out at libby.cloete@simmonsandhanbury.com for further information.
