About the role
Tax Manager – Cincinnati, OHA well-respected Cincinnati-area CPA firm is adding a Tax Manager to its growing team. This is a chance to own a diverse client book, lead and develop staff, and work directly with business owners and individuals who value proactive planning, without the bureaucracy of a large national firm.
What You'll Do:
Manage a portfolio of individual, partnership, S-corp, C-corp, and fiduciary tax engagements from planning through filing- Review returns, workpapers, and projections prepared by staff and seniors- Deliver proactive tax planning and consulting to closely held businesses and high-net-worth individuals- Research complex federal, state, and local tax issues and communicate recommendations clearly- Respond to IRS and state notices and represent clients as needed- Train, mentor, and coach staff and senior accountants- Manage engagement timelines, budgets, and client relationships
What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's in Taxation a plus- Active CPA license (or EA with strong public accounting background)- 5+ years of public accounting tax experience, including review responsibility- Strong knowledge of individual and pass-through entity taxation- Experience with professional tax software (CCH, UltraTax, Lacerte, or similar)- Excellent communication and client-service skills
