Product Engineering Manager
Location:
Onsite – Scottsdale, AZ | Type: Direct HireAbout the RoleOur client is looking for someone to define what their ReRAM product is: the architecture, the specifications, and the case for why it belongs in a customer's design over EEPROM or Flash. You won't be designing the chip yourself, but you'll be in the room with the design team defining the internal architecture, and you'll also be in front of customers helping them understand where ReRAM fits and supporting their design-in process. If you've spent your career on the memory component itself, inside a Flash drive or EEPROM device, rather than the drive or system around it, and you're looking for a way into an emerging technology, this is that opportunity.
Note:
this is a manager-level role in terms of seniority and scope, not people management. You'd be owning a product, not a team.
What You'll Do:
- Own product requirements by translating customer and system needs into IC specifications, features, and datasheets
- Define internal architecture for the ReRAM product in close collaboration with the design team, without being the one at the transistor level
- Build reference designs and evaluation boards that demonstrate ReRAM's advantages over EEPROM and FlashServe as the primary technical point of contact for key customers and strategic design-in opportunities
- Drive design-in success including system debugging, performance optimization, and issue resolution
- Quantify and communicate system-level value: latency, endurance, power, and integration tradeoffs
- Develop technical documentation, application notes, and training materials for internal teams and external partners
- Partner with marketing, sales, and field engineering to shape product positioning and competitive differentiation
- Influence the product roadmap through direct voice-of-customer input and competitive benchmarking
What You BringThe one non-negotiable: a demonstrated ability to define a semiconductor product, from customer/system need through to spec and datasheet.
Background in memory technology clearly reflected on your resume; specifically, experience defining or working with a memory component itself (EEPROM, Flash, ReRAM, or similar), not a memory-based system or drive
Comfortable moving between a technical architecture discussion with chip designers and a customer-facing conversation about design-inBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Strong knowledge of memory architectures, interface protocols (I2C, SPI, etc.), and embedded systems
Familiarity with circuit design, PCB layout, and mixed-signal concepts
Strong communication skills for customer-facing work and technical presentations
Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
