WE'RE HIRING - FLEET MECHANIC

Position Overview: The Fleet Mechanic will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on our fleet of commercial tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other heavy-duty equipment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically knowledgeable, organized, and capable of working independently while prioritizing safety and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities: Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) and repairs on Class 8 commercial trucks, trailers, forklifts, and other fleet equipment. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and air brake systems. Perform required 90-day BIT inspections and document findings, deficiencies, and corrective actions. Conduct trailer inspections, maintenance, and repairs, including brakes, suspension, lighting, tires, and structural components. Perform forklift preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs. Identify potential equipment failures and address issues before they result in costly breakdowns. Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and repair documentation. Respond to equipment breakdowns and assist with emergency repairs when necessary. Ensure all fleet equipment meets applicable DOT, CHP, and company safety requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

Qualifications & Requirements: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in commercial fleet maintenance or heavy-duty equipment repair. Experience operating and driving Class 8 commercial trucks. Hands-on experience performing trailer preventive maintenance and repairs. Experience performing forklift preventive maintenance and repairs. Strong understanding of diesel engines, air brake systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs efficiently. Familiarity with DOT inspections and California BIT inspection requirements. Ability to work independently, prioritize repairs, and manage multiple maintenance tasks. Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail. Valid driver's license required; Class A CDL preferred. Must have and maintain their own tools necessary to perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on commercial trucks, trailers, forklifts, and other fleet equipment.
