SQL Development – Lead/Architect -10-12+ years

Overview In this SQL Development – Lead/Architect role, you will design and optimize high‑volume SQL solutions that meet business needs. You will shape data models, ensure performance and security, and lead code reviews and release processes across Dev and QA teams. You’ll tackle complex queries, troubleshoot production issues, and propose scalable architectures for large datasets. This position offers an opportunity to influence data strategy within a technology‑driven environment and collaborate with cross‑functional partners to deliver robust data solutions. Responsibilities Create and modify SQL objects (procedures, functions, views) to meet business requirements Ensure performance and security of SQL solutions Debug and troubleshoot issues from Production Support or Business Propose data models based on requirements Perform peer code reviews for SQL objects Validate SQL code for QA/Prod ad hoc execution Create SQL builds Coordinate release management with Dev and QA teams Key requirements 10+ years in SQL development Strong proficiency with T-SQL and SQL Server 2014 Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills Deep understanding of execution plans and optimization of large, complex SQL statements Experience with large databases (terabytes of data)Strong RDBMS concepts and data modeling Knowledge of SQL Server Profiler Knowledge of best practices for relational databases Ability to plan resource requirements from high level specifications Knowledge of financial domain (advantage)Experience with SVN, Octopus, and Team City (advantage)T-SQLSQL Server 2014 Troubleshooting and debugging Execution plans and query optimization Data modelingSQL Server Profiler
