Cloud Engineer

Overview In this Cloud Engineer role, you design, migrate, and optimize secure cloud solutions for a DoD-focused program in Azure Government. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security, compliance, and scalable performance across cloud architectures. You drive cloud modernization initiatives, including IaC, CI/CD, and platform enhancements, delivering mission-critical capabilities. This position offers hands-on work with cutting-edge cyber and digital forensics domains, shaping secure, reliable cloud outcomes for national security purposes. Responsibilities Design secure, scalable, and highly available cloud solutions on Azure Government using PaaS/IaaS and container platforms (Kubernetes, Docker, AKS)Create and execute detailed cloud migration plans ensuring security and compliance Lead enhancements of cloud management platforms and assess performance improvements Develop infrastructure as code with CI/CD pipelines using Terraform and ARM templates Lead cloud consulting engagements, providing architecture and deployment guidance Educate stakeholders and engineering teams on cloud solutions, security best practices, and cost optimization Participate in technical project reviews to verify designs meet operational and security requirements Maintain technical documentation and stay current with new tools and practices Key requirements Minimum 8 years with BS/BA; 6 years with MS/MA; 3 years with PhDDegree fields: Information Technology, Data Science, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or Software Engineering (highly desired)Active Certifications: CompTIA Cloud+, CompTIA Security+, or Computing Environment Certificate (IAT Level II/III)Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility Knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and network security methodologies Knowledge of risk management processes and cybersecurity principles Knowledge of cloud service models (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS) and deployment models (private, public, hybrid)Minimum 2 years of experience in Microsoft Azure Government Proven experience designing flexible, scalable, and highly available cloud architectures Stakeholder education and guidance Strong communication Analytical problem-solving Azure Government experience Cloud architecture design Kubernetes, Docker, AKS
