POSITION IMPACTThe Global Key Account Manager (GKAM) is a high-visibility, strategically critical role within Tekni Plex’s Integrated Performance Solutions (IPS) group. Responsible for ~$25–30M in global account revenue, the GKAM will serve as lead on one global account and supporting partner on several others. This individual will develop and execute global account strategies, build wide and deep customer relationships, and coordinate across regions to deliver profitable growth. The role requires strong commercial acumen, the ability to influence without direct authority, and the skill to balance customer advocacy with Tekni Plex objectives.
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Global Key Account Manager is accountable for driving sales and margin growth and ensuring customer satisfaction through strategic account planning, execution, and cross-regional coordination. This individual will lead one global account while supporting several others, balancing customer advocacy with Tekni Plex objectives and presenting regularly to senior leadership.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Deliver sales and EBITDA growth at or above budget for assigned global accounts Develop and execute strategic account plans with financial targets, forecasts, and multi-year supply proposals Build and nurture relationships with senior executives and multi-level stakeholders beyond procurement Coordinate global account teams across North America, Europe, and South America to align strategy and execution Provide customer feedback to R&D and Product Management to drive innovation and customer-specific projects Negotiate contracts, agreements, pricing, and terms of supply to secure profitable long-term relationships Represent Tekni Plex at trade shows and industry events to expand customer engagement and market visibility Balance customer needs with organizational priorities, managing conflict effectively both internally and externally Present account performance and strategy updates monthly to leadershipPROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONSThe ideal candidate has at least five years of progressive Key Account Management experience within the packaging industry, including recent (within the last 12 months) hands-on management of complex global accounts, international travel, and support of global teams. The successful individual will have a proven record of delivering profitable growth, within flexible packaging, dispensing, or closures, and experience commercializing new products and solutions. Strong financial and business acumen is essential, including expertise in pricing, forecasting, and contract negotiations. The candidate must be an exceptional communicator—skilled in probing, listening, and navigating conflict (internally and externally)—while operating with independence and influencing senior leaders in a matrixed environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/database management tools is expected, along with the ability and willingness to travel 50% of the time, including internationally. Fluency in Spanish desired.
