About the role

We are looking for a Financial Controller to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below. This is a great opportunity for an accounting leader to take ownership of financial reporting and controls while partnering closely with senior management, in a hybrid role based in Cleveland, OH.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the general ledger, the monthly close, and the production of accurate financial statements
  • Ensure financial reporting complies with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and tax advisors
  • Design and monitor internal controls to protect company assets and support clean audits
  • Direct cash management, working capital, and treasury activity
  • Support the budgeting process and produce regular financial analysis for management
  • Evaluate accounting systems and drive process upgrades that improve accuracy and speed
  • Recruit, supervise, and develop accounting team members
  • Keep the company current on tax and regulatory reporting obligations
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including team leadership
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and audit processes
  • Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel
  • Ability to translate financial results into clear takeaways for non-finance leaders
  • Organized, detail-focused, and comfortable managing competing priorities
