About the role

An accounting and financial advisory firm in New York, is looking for a Senior Associate to lead engagements for startups and founder-led businesses across a mix of industries.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage month-end close and reporting for clients who outsource their accounting
  • Create financial models, including cash flow projections and profitability by business segment
  • Guide clients through cash-to-accrual conversions, audit readiness, and design or review of their close process
  • Lead project teams on budgets, forecasts, KPIs, variance analysis, and dashboards
  • Evaluate internal controls and recommend improvements to finance and accounting processes
  • Research technical accounting questions and apply the answers in practice
  • Build relationships with owners and managers and find ways to increase the value of their businesses
  • Mentor associates working on your projects
Requirements:
  • Degree in accounting or finance
  • At least 3 years of experience in accounting or public audit
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Able to be in the office most of the week
  • CPA preferred
