Police Dispatcher The Pevely Police Department is accepting applications for a Police Dispatcher. The applicant must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma, or its equivalent, and be able to work shift work, including weekends and holidays. This is a full-time position with a salary ranging from $21.20 to $23.75 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. Candidates will be subject to pre-employment drug testing, a physical exam, a background check, and a psychiatric evaluation.
Requirements: High School Diploma or GED Ability to speak and enunciate the English language clearly. Ability to type at least 40 words per minute, multitask, and read on a computer while talking on the phone. Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations and remain calm during emergencies. Ability to maintain records. Have a pleasant and well-modulated voice. Ability to effectively communicate information both orally and in writing. Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision Ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively and determine the proper course of action and response.
