About the role

C++ Runtime & Performance Engineer | Quantitative Trading | New York / Chicago We are working with a top quantitative trading firm looking for an engineer with deep expertise in C++, Linux and systems performance. The team works on some of the lowest-level components of the firm's technology stack, focusing on extracting performance from modern hardware and improving the efficiency and predictability of latency-sensitive systems. What you’ll work on: Build and optimize performance-critical C++ systems Investigate CPU, memory and concurrency bottlenecks Work on memory allocation, threading, synchronization and runtime behaviour Profile applications from software down to the underlying hardware Improve cache efficiency, data layout and execution performance Develop low-level tooling and infrastructure used by other engineers
What we’re looking for: Deep C++ and Linux experience Strong understanding of memory management, concurrency and CPU architecture Experience profiling and optimizing complex systems Knowledge of caches, NUMA, allocators, atomics and synchronization Experience with compilers, runtimes, kernels, databases, browsers, networking or other performance-sensitive systems is highly relevant No previous trading experience is required. This is particularly relevant for engineers working on performance-sensitive infrastructure, runtimes, operating systems, compilers, browsers or large-scale C++ systems.
