Overview:
As Senior Proposal Specialist, you steer pursuit strategy and lead the preparation of qualifications, proposals, and marketing collateral. You will coordinate cross-functional teams to win work, coach interview teams, and develop sector boilerplate for repeat use. You'll translate market trends into compelling content and win strategies, partnering with marketing to amplify brand messaging. This role sits at the intersection of design, storytelling, and client capture, helping SmithGroup grow in a competitive landscape. Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and lead the writing, editing, and production of proposals, statements of qualifications, and presentations
- Guide go/no-go decisions and win-strategy development for pursuits
- Lead pursuit strategy, interview coaching, and master boilerplate development
- Provide significant support or ownership of proposal sections for major pursuits
- Serve as lead regional marketer for specific markets and translate market trends into actionable content
- Develop market-specific content and collateral in collaboration with Marketing Strategist
- Drive brand-building and market-level messaging; lead thought leadership and events
- Update firmwide databases with project and proposal information; mentor junior staff
Key requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or related field
- Minimum 7 years of experience in the A/E/C industry
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and InDesignWorking knowledge of Deltek Vision and OpenAssetAdvanced marketing fundamentals and A/E/C terminology
- Excellent written and visual storytelling abilities
- Ability to mentor junior staff and manage multiple assignmentsCPSM certification preferred
- Strong time and project management skills
- Creative and strategic thinkingstrong written and verbal communicationmentoring and leadershipattention to detail
