Yard Hostler Driver

Lazer Logistics is hiring Local Yard Drivers to safely move trailers within busy distribution and manufacturing yards. In this field-based role, you will operate yard trucks to spot, shuttle, and position trailers at dock doors and designated yard locations, supporting 24/7 logistics operations. Responsibilities include pre- and post-trip inspections, precise trailer placement, clear radio or system-based communication, and strict adherence to safety procedures. Safely maneuver yard trucks to move trailers between dock doors and yard locations Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections on equipment and report defects Follow site procedures, safety policies, and yard management protocols Use yard management systems or radio communication to receive and complete moves Verify trailer numbers, seals, and placement accuracy to support warehouse operations Coordinate with warehouse, dispatch, and gate personnel to prioritize moves Maintain accurate move logs and documentation as required by the site Support a 24/7 operation with reliable attendance and shift flexibility Yard truck/hostler operation Trailer spotting and positioning Pre- and post-trip equipment inspection Use of yard management systems or radio dispatch Basic DOT safety practices Backing and maneuvering in tight spaces Trailer coupling and uncoupling Reading and matching trailer IDs and paperwork Time management in high-volume yards Incident and defect reporting Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Valid CDL or yard jockey/hostler experience preferred based on site requirements Clean driving record meeting company and customer standards Ability to operate yard tractors and understand basic trailer coupling procedures Ability to pass DOT or company-required drug and background screenings
