AmeriCorps Education Member

City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. Provide daily classroom support alongside teachers Tutor students in small groups and one-on-one Build relationships that promote student engagement and attendance Track and report student progress on academic and social-emotional goals Support whole-school activities and events Collaborate with a diverse team of AmeriCorps members Communicate with staff and families as needed Participate in ongoing training and professional development Student mentorship Classroom support Basic tutoring (ELA & math) Behavior management Data entry & progress tracking Communication (students/families) Team collaboration Community outreach Time management Basic computer skills (Google/Microsoft) Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member under federal requirements U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident status (typical AmeriCorps requirement) Ability to pass background checks required for school-based service
