Industrial Maintenance Technician

Knife River seeks a Plant Maintenance Technician to support construction materials operations at our Bismarck, ND facility. You’ll inspect, troubleshoot, and repair plant equipment including conveyors, crushers, mixers, and motors to keep production running safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, basic welding and fabrication, lubrication, and equipment adjustments. Work closely with a safety-focused, team-oriented crew while gaining training and advancement opportunities in a stable, growth-oriented construction environment. Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair plant machinery including conveyors, crushers, and mixers Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and lubrication on equipment Complete basic welding and fabrication for repairs and part replacements Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and implement fixes Follow all safety policies, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements Document maintenance activities and communicate equipment needs to supervisors Collaborate with operations team to minimize downtime and support production goals Assist with equipment installations, adjustments, and upgrades as needed Mechanical troubleshooting Industrial equipment repair Preventive maintenance Basic welding and fabrication Hydraulic systems Pneumatic systems Electrical/controls basics Reading technical manuals/blueprints Use of hand and power tools Safety and lockout/tagout procedures Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k OSHA safety training Lockout/Tagout certification Forklift certification Aerial lift certification Welding certification (preferred) Equipment-specific manufacturer training (preferred)
