A real estate litigation boutique in Orange County is looking for a litigation attorney who wants variety on their docket and real ownership of their cases.

Associates have grown into partners here before, and the right person can do the same.
The firm focuses on real estate law and helps clients with related matters in other practice areas too. Most of its work is on the defense side, with some plaintiff-side work mixed in, including evictions.
It's a small team of attorneys, supported by a paralegal and operations staff. Lender clients are a meaningful part of the practice, which is why bankruptcy experience carries real weight here. The firm sends some of that work out today and would like to keep more of it in-house.
What you'll do:
Carry a caseload that's about 90% real estate litigation.
Handle breach of contract claims and a broad mix of real estate disputes.
Work bankruptcy matters tied to foreclosure, including filings used to stay a sale.
Support real estate transactions as they come up.
Draft demurrers and motions, take and defend depositions, and make regular court appearances.
Practice mostly in state superior court, with occasional federal court work.
What they're looking for:
2+ years of civil litigation experience. Five or more years is ideal.
Hands-on experience with demurrers, depositions, and superior court appearances.
A real estate litigation background is preferred. Insurance defense and other general civil litigation backgrounds are a great fit too.
Bankruptcy experience is a big plus.
Admitted to practice in California.
Able to work onsite in Orange County.
Base salary of $150,000–$220,000, depending on experience.
Occasional discretionary bonuses.

PTO starting at 10 days a year, increasing with tenure.
