Route and Trip Bus Driver

Department: Transportation FT/PT Status: FT Start Date: Immediately Closing Date: Open Until Filled Bargaining Unit: Pine Island Education Support Professionals - Local 8153 Experience Requirements: High School Diploma and relevant certifications and training Excellent Communication Customer-focus approach Clean Driving Record Background check and ability to work with children Must be up to date on DOT and State rules and regulations Salary Range: Hourly rate $19.31 - $25.00, in addition route pay of $131.31 per day (both am and pm route must be driven to receive full day pay)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide safe transportation for all passengers Provide outstanding customer service as a representative of the transportation department within Pine Island Schools Ensures the highest level of student safety through transportation training, maintenance and procedures Evening or weekend hours may be required on an irregular basis Other duties as assigned Hold CDL with air brakes and proper school bus endorsements Perform daily vehicle pre- and post- trip inspections to ensure safety and compliance Maintain accurate mileage records Ensure and maintain orderly behavior of passengers on the bus Follow all traffic laws and regulations Customer-centered focus with strong customer service skills. Dependable, reliable and able to work independently. Creative thinker and problem-solver Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in professional settings Must maintain strict confidentiality Monday through Friday per school calendar - Activity Bus may run on any day
