About the role

Sleep Technologist A sleep technologist works under general supervision of the medical director or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in center sleep testing; diagnostic and therapeutic interventions; comprehensive patient care; and direct patient education. A sleep technologist is able to perform the duties defined for a sleep technician and is able to provide oversight of other sleep center staff. The sleep technologist is credentialed in sleep technology.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education:
  • Associates degree or Graduate accredited respiratory program or Completion of A STEP Program or Completion of a Certified Sleep Program
  • Minimum Work Experience:
  • No prior experience required
Required Licenses/Certifications: RPSGT; CPSGT; or RST; or CRT/RRT with SDS credentials from NBRC; or completion of A-Step (completion with 1 year of hire date); and/or eligible to sit for RST boards Eligible to sit for RST boardsCPR certified Required Skills; Knowledge; and Abilities:
  • Sleep study preparation and set-upSleep study procedures
  • Use of recording units
  • Maintains professional appearance and decorum at all times
  • Compose applicable policies and procedures
  • Compose letters/memorandums
  • Coordinates meetings and schedules
  • Proofread documents
  • Research information
  • Schedule appointments
  • Answers phones
  • Conducts patient follow-ups
  • Compile statistics
  • Able to perform EEG recordings for on call and STAT EEG's
