Lumino is launching a new company, and we are looking for a Senior Brand Designer to help shape the brand from the beginning. This is a chance to work with the pace and creative freedom of a startup while having the backing of Lumino, an established Madison company with approximately 25 years of operating history, experienced leadership, resources and deep industry knowledge. You will work across digital, print, web, sales materials, packaging, photography and real-world brand applications. Some projects will start with a clear brief. Others will start with a rough idea and a business problem that needs to be turned into something customers understand and trust. We are looking for someone who can help shape the visual direction, build practical brand systems and execute the work at a high level. What You’ll Work On-Brand identity. Help develop and maintain logos, typography, color systems, iconography, visual language and brand standards.-Website and digital design. Design page layouts, landing pages, product presentation, campaign creative and other customer-facing digital experiences.-Sales materials. Create brochures, product guides, presentations, proposals, comparison tools, leave-behinds and other collateral used by sales teams and customers.-Advertising. Develop creative for digital, print, direct mail, social and local marketing campaigns.-Physical brand applications. Translate the brand into vehicle graphics, apparel, signage, event materials, displays and other environments where customers encounter us.-Photography and image direction. Help define the visual approach to photography, organize shot needs and make sure imagery is used consistently and effectively.-Product and merchandising materials. Support packaging, samples, displays and product communication that make products easier to understand and choose.-Internal creative. Build templates, presentations and tools that help teams communicate clearly and consistently. What Makes This Role Different The new company is being built now, so the brand is still taking shape. You will have room to influence it from the beginning rather than simply work inside a finished design system. You will work directly with the people building the business and making marketing decisions, with access to Lumino’s established teams and resources when needed. Feedback loops will be short, and your work will move quickly from concept to market. The range is broad. In the same month, you might work on a website experience, a product guide, a vehicle graphic and a campaign concept. The challenge is making all of it feel like the same company. We expect you to have a point of view. If something feels generic, dated, confusing or unnecessarily complicated, we want you to say so and help solve it. What We’re Looking ForA strong candidate will be a multidisciplinary designer with a strong portfolio and experience across both digital and physical brand work. Experience with several of the following would be useful:Adobe Creative Suite Figma Website and responsive digital design Typography and brand systems Print production Digital advertising creative Photography direction Presentation design Basic motion or videoAI-assisted creative tools used thoughtfully You do not need to be an expert in every category. You do need strong design judgment, the ability to work independently and the range to move comfortably between concept and execution. You’ll Probably Thrive Here IfYou can take an incomplete idea and turn it into polished, practical creative. You care about typography, spacing, hierarchy and the details that make work feel finished. You can move quickly without lowering the quality bar. You understand that premium design is often simpler, not busier. You like building systems and standards, not just one-off pieces. You are comfortable giving a thoughtful point of view when a direction is not working. You can move from a website homepage to a sales presentation to a physical brand application without losing consistency. You care about whether the work communicates and performs, not just whether it looks good. You are interested in customers, marketing and the business behind the design. You like the idea of helping build a new company and brand from the beginning, but value having an established organization behind it. This Role May Not Be a Fit IfYou need every assignment fully art-directed before you can get started. You want to work in only one narrow design discipline. You prefer long approval chains and highly structured creative processes. You are uncomfortable making design decisions with incomplete information. You are focused on aesthetics but not particularly interested in the commercial purpose of the work. You prefer maintaining an established design system to helping shape one. How We Work Design here is expected to make things clearer, more credible and easier for customers to act on. You will work closely with marketing, sales, product, technology and leadership. We value thoughtful debate, quick iteration and direct feedback more than lengthy presentation cycles. The standard is straightforward: create work that is visually strong, commercially useful and consistent enough that customers recognize the brand wherever they encounter it.
