About the Company: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to manage payroll operations and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role is responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time, maintaining payroll records, supporting tax compliance activities, and partnering with internal stakeholders to ensure a seamless employee experience.

Responsibilities: Process full-cycle payroll for hourly and salaried employees across multiple jurisdictions. Review, validate, and reconcile payroll and timekeeping data prior to payroll processing. Administer payroll-related changes, including new hires, terminations, compensation updates, bonuses, and deductions. Process off-cycle payrolls as needed. Audit payroll records and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Partner with Human Resources, Finance, and other internal teams to ensure payroll accuracy and data integrity. Maintain employee payroll records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information. Support payroll tax account setup and maintenance across applicable jurisdictions. Maintain accurate payroll tax records and documentation. Assist with payroll tax filings and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. Monitor changes in payroll regulations, tax laws, wage and hour requirements, and leave programs. Support internal and external audits by providing payroll reports, reconciliations, and documentation. Manage year-end payroll activities, including tax reporting and employee tax forms. Develop and maintain payroll procedures and process documentation. Prepare payroll reports and reconciliations as needed. Analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies and process improvement opportunities. Assist with payroll system updates, testing, and implementations. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications: 3–5+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-state or multi-location environment. Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax requirements, and wage and hour laws. Experience working with payroll systems such as ADP, Paylocity, UKG, Workday, Rippling, Gusto, or similar platforms. Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
