Job ID: 902565 Job TitleRegistered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown LocationMadison, WI | Acute Care Schedule / Job TypeContract | Days | 12-hour shifts, 7:00-19:30 | 3×12 or 4×12 schedule | Every other weekend rotation | Holiday availability required, including 12/24 and 12/25 | Limited time-off availability 12/22-1/5 Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in an Intermediate Care (IMC) Acute Medical/Progressive Care setting and an IMC Thoracic unit Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, including identification of lethal arrhythmias and heart blocks Care for a patient population that may include oncology, cardiac, thoracic, and transplant patients Float to supporting units as needed based on staffing requirements Pass a required telemetry competency exam prior to start date, meeting strict passing criteria within allowable attempts Required Qualifications Active Wisconsin RN license or Compact RN license required BLS and ACLS certifications - American Heart Association (AHA) only Minimum of two years of inpatient acute care RN experience within the last three years in IMC/PCU/Stepdown or a related specialty Telemetry, oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required Transplant experience required Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted Preferred Experience / Skills Experience in a Magnet-designated or academic medical center environment Familiarity with thoracic patient populations Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills across both adult and pediatric populations Why Join Us Opportunity to work at a Magnet-designated academic medical center recognized as a leading hospital, teaching institution, and referral center Gain experience across multiple high-acuity IMC units in a nationally recognized healthcare environment
