Job Description:
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Yard Foreman to oversee daily operations at our scrap and recycling yard. This position requires strong leadership, organization, and hands-on experience in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
Key Tasks Include:
- Supervise and manage day-to-day yard operations
- Lead and direct yard employees to ensure efficiency and safety
- Monitor incoming and outgoing materials (scrap metal, recycling, etc.)Operate and oversee use of equipment (skid steers, excavators, forklifts, etc.)Maintain organization and cleanliness of the yard
- Enforce safety procedures and company policies
- Assist customers and ensure excellent service
- Coordinate loading/unloading of trucks and containers
- Track inventory and report any discrepancies
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in scrap, recycling, construction, or similar industry preferred
- Leadership or supervisory experience required
- Ability to operate heavy equipment (or willingness to learn)
- Strong work ethic and reliability (must show up and lead by example)
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions year-round
