About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Concentric Healthcare Staffing to find a qualified Cardiac Stepdown RN in Salisbury, North Carolina, 28144!Job TitleRegistered Nurse – Cardiac StepdownLocationSalisbury, NC | Acute CareSchedule / Job TypeContract | 12-Hour Night Shifts (18:45–07:15) | Friday, Saturday & Sunday | Expected 36 hours/weekKey ResponsibilitiesProvide direct patient care on a high-acuity, fast-paced cardiac and stroke stepdown unit managing stable pre- and post-procedure cardiac patientsManage and titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone; experience with PCI and TR bands requiredMonitor and care for patients with diagnoses including unstable angina, CHF, dysrhythmias, CVA, TIA, and low-risk chest painPerform IV starts and continuous telemetry monitoring; operate pulse oximetry and high-flow O2 equipmentManage patient assignments with expected ratios of 1:5–6, with comfort managing up to 6 patients during surge; unit typically turns over 78–90 patients per weekParticipate in on-call and float requirements as determined by patient census and unit needs; self-scheduling with leadership oversightRequired QualificationsActive NC RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable at time of submission) Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a cardiac stepdown or similarly high-acuity setting with comparable patient ratiosRequired certifications: ACLS, BLS/BCLS, and NIH Stroke ScaleProficiency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip management, and care of pre/post cardiac procedure patientsMust pass EKG testing prior to startLocal candidates (within 50 miles of the facility) are welcome to apply; a different rate applies for local candidatesPreferred Experience / SkillsPrior travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers will be consideredFamiliarity with Pyxis, Epic (Dimensions), and SBAR communication frameworkExperience caring for patients on BiPAP (chronic use), non-rebreather masks, and high-flow oxygen therapyComfort with high patient turnover environments and rapid admission/discharge workflowsWhy Join UsContract lengths of 13–26 weeks available, offering flexibility for travel clinicians seeking short- or mid-term assignmentsUnit is supported by a team lead to assist with admissions and discharges, providing additional structure in a high-volume environment About Concentric Healthcare StaffingFounded and headquartered in Scottsdale, AZ, Concentric Healthcare Staffing specializes in healthcare employment with an emphasis in nursing and allied health.
