Assistant Director of Finance
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, highly organized Assistant Director of Finance to support the financial operations of a two-hotel portfolio totaling 328 guest rooms, including a unionized hotel operation. This hands-on leadership role supports the Director of Finance in overseeing the day-to-day accounting and financial functions of both properties, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Income Audit, General Cashiering, payroll, balance sheet reconciliations, month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate is an experienced hotel finance professional who understands the accounting and operational complexities of hospitality and can effectively manage priorities across multiple properties. Hotel accounting experience is required, along with strong knowledge of hotel payroll, financial controls, tax compliance, and reconciliation processes. This individual will be expected to identify discrepancies, investigate variances, strengthen processes, and partner with hotel leadership to maintain accurate financial reporting and strong controls across both properties.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of hotel accounting/finance experience; hotel experience is required.
Previous supervisory or management-level experience within hotel finance/accounting.
Experience with union hotel operations and Local 6 payroll preferred.
Strong understanding of hotel accounting principles and hotel operating cycles.
Hands-on experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Income Audit, General Cashiering, payroll, bank and credit card reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger accounting, and month-end close.
Strong knowledge of hotel revenue, room taxes, city ledger, deposits, credit card settlements, and cash management.
Experience with hotel PMS and accounting platforms; Opera and M3 preferred.
Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines across two properties.
Ability to independently research discrepancies and determine appropriate corrective action.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive financial and employee information.
