Primary Responsibilities: Set up and operate numerical control drilling machines to drill holes into printed circuit boards (PCBs) according to specifications. Load program files containing the necessary commands into the machine or enter commands to retrieve programmed control data. Review setup instructions, blueprints, and work orders to determine drilling requirements and machine settings. Load and unload PCB panels onto the drilling machines, ensuring proper alignment and secure placement. Maintain drill bits by replacing any worn or damaged ones to ensure optimal performance and hole quality. Monitor the drilling process to ensure the quality of the holes being drilled. Perform quality control checks using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Troubleshoot and resolve minor issues with drilling equipment or processes. Regularly clean and maintain drilling equipment. Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient production flow. Keep detailed records of production output, machine settings, and quality inspection results. Contribute to process improvements by identifying opportunities to boost efficiency and minimize defects. Support cross-training efforts and carry out other tasks assigned by the supervisor to meet production needs.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Preferably experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Proficiency in using measuring tools and equipment. Basic computer skills for operating machine controls. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment based on OSHA and company policies. Able to lift 35 lb. Occasionally, above-the-shoulder lifting.
