Gardening Specialist

Key Responsibilities: Program Development: Design and implement age-appropriate gardening activities that teach campers about planting, growing, and harvesting plants and food. Hands‑On Instruction: Lead daily gardening sessions, guiding campers through hands‑on experiences in planting, watering, weeding, and harvesting.

Environmental Education: Teach campers about sustainability, composting, and the importance of environmental stewardship. Garden Maintenance: Oversee the upkeep of the camp's garden spaces to ensure they remain safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing. Collaboration: Work closely with other camp specialists and counselors to integrate gardening activities into the overall camp curriculum. Camper Engagement: Foster a positive learning environment where campers feel encouraged to explore and ask questions about gardening and nature. Seasonal Position: Employment runs from late June to early August with mandatory pre‑camp training sessions.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:15 PM. Opportunity to share your passion for gardening with children in a fun and supportive environment. Professional development through extensive pre‑camp training sessions.

Minimum Qualifications: Qualifications: Age Requirement: Must be 21 years or older.

Experience: Prior experience in gardening, farming, or plant cultivation is required. Experience working with children in an educational or camp setting is preferred.

Skills: Strong communication skills, creativity in activity planning, and the ability to engage children of various ages in hands‑on learning.
