Maintenance Mechanic Trainee - Shift 1st Visalia Plant - Visalia, CA 93291 Overview Salary Range $31.51 Hourly Position Type Full Time Education Level High School Category Maintenance, Installation, Repair Description Work Location: Visalia 12310 Avenue 368 | Visalia | CA | 93291 Hourly Rate: $31.51 (Overtime and weekends may be required) We are hiring for a 1st Shift position which will cover all three shifts where needed.
Shift:
1st Shift 6am - 2:30pm Job Summary The Maintenance Mechanic Trainee works under the general supervision of the Maintenance Manager. The mechanic trainee is primarily responsible for learning to ensure that production equipment is at maximum uptime and in good repair. Troubleshooting skills and a strong mechanical aptitude are essential for success. The mechanic trainee may work any shift.
Primary Responsibilities:
Food Safety is the responsibility of all Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees. All Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees must be aware of CCPs in their area and how to document them appropriately. All staff must report food safety and quality problems to their immediate supervisor in charge during their shift. Learn to maintain, test and troubleshoot citrus juice, oil and production equipment to include: pumps, motors, separators, evaporators, conveyers, elevators and ultra – filtration systems. Learn to maintain, test and troubleshoot plant utility and power systems to include compressors, boilers, wastewater systems and NH 3 systems. Learn to fabricate parts and production piping equipment as required. Perform preventive maintenance and lubrication on equipment per the P.M. schedule. Alert Maintenance Manager to any non-standard condition or parts requirements. Follow all safety rules and practices to include wearing all personal protective equipment. Follow all personal hygiene and food safety practices. Assist general contractors as directed with the installation of new or modified equipment. Act professionally toward customers, vendors and other visitors to the plant. Demonstrate reliable attendance, consistent punctuality and a positive attitude. Follow any other instructions of the Maintenance Manager. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications and Education Requirements Basic computer knowledge. Previous PM systems experience. Preferred post high school education in maintenance related course with certificate in industrial maintenance. Preferred 2 years of previous industry maintenance helper or operator experience. Preferred basic understanding of hand tool and power tools.
Physical Requirements:
The ability to meet flexible and changing priorities and the ability to work under pressure. 90% of the time in plant repairing equipment. This may require bending and climbing stairs and ladders on a regular basis. 10% in the maintenance shop; fabricating parts or equipment. May be required to lift up to 50lbs. on occasion.
