Laboratory Assistant / Quality Control Technician | Manufacturing Love science, solving problems, and seeing how things are actually made? This could be right up your alley! We're looking for a motivated, hands-on Laboratory Assistant / Quality Control Technician to support laboratory testing, product quality, and manufacturing operations at an established industrial facility in Boardman, Oregon. This isn't your typical research lab! You'll work closely with production and quality teams, testing samples, monitoring manufacturing processes, identifying potential issues, and helping ensure products consistently meet quality and safety standards. Whether your background is in food processing, agriculture, brewing, chemistry, environmental testing, or industrial manufacturing, we'd love to hear from you!
What You'll Be Doing:
Laboratory Testing: Collect, prepare, and analyze raw material, in-process, and finished-product samples.
Quality Control: Perform routine testing to ensure products meet established specifications and quality standards.
Process Monitoring: Track production samples and laboratory results to identify trends, abnormalities, or potential quality issues.
Analytical Testing: Conduct routine chemical and physical testing, including pH, moisture, density, solids, and other quality measurements as applicable.
Equipment & Calibration: Operate, clean, maintain, and verify laboratory instruments and testing equipment.
Documentation: Record results, maintain accurate laboratory records, and enter testing information into electronic systems.
Production Support: Communicate testing results to operators, quality personnel, and plant leadership to support troubleshooting and process improvements.
Safety & Compliance: Follow laboratory procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and applicable safety and quality requirements.
Continuous Improvement: Assist with identifying opportunities to improve testing accuracy, product quality, and production efficiency.
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience in a laboratory, quality control, manufacturing, food processing, or industrial testing environment preferred.
- Familiarity with sample collection, laboratory testing, quality inspections, or basic chemical analysis.
- Ability to accurately document results, follow established procedures, and recognize unusual findings.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and basic computer skills.
- Comfortable working in an active manufacturing environment and collaborating with production teams.
- Ability to work independently, learn new testing methods, and follow safety procedures.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, weekends, or overtime based on production needs.
- An associate or bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related field is a plus, but not required! Experience That Translates WellWe welcome candidates from a variety of industries, including:
