Senior Music Retail Sales Associate

Music & Arts seeks a PT Senior Sales Associate to deliver exceptional, student-focused service in our retail store. You’ll guide customers in choosing band and orchestra instruments, rentals, accessories, and private lessons, supporting students, parents, and educators. Responsibilities include driving sales, managing rentals, handling POS and cash, merchandising, and maintaining a welcoming, organized store. You’ll collaborate with lesson, repair, and school service teams, help promote events and education programs, and grow in a mission-driven, music-centered environment that values community and performance. Drive retail sales of instruments, accessories, and lessons to meet store goals Provide knowledgeable, student-focused service to parents, educators, and musicians Support instrument rental programs, including sign-ups, returns, and exchanges Maintain merchandising standards, stock levels, and clean, organized displays Assist with opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and POS transactions Promote private lessons, school services, and special events to customers Coordinate with repair and lesson staff to fulfill customer needs Build relationships with local schools, directors, and music programs Retail sales Point-of-sale (POS) systems Cash handling Customer service Product knowledge – musical instruments Merchandising and inventory management Instrument rental program administration Sales reporting and goal tracking Basic computer proficiency Upselling and cross-selling Background in music performance or music education preferred Familiarity with band and orchestra instruments Prior specialty or music retail experience preferred
