Client Overview: Our client is a fast-growing healthcare startup focused on transforming the patient and provider experience through innovative healthcare solutions. As they continue to scale, they are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Biller to join their team and support revenue cycle operations. Salary/Hourly Rate$25/hr - $30/hr
Position Overview: The Medical Biller will be responsible for the accurate submission, tracking, and resolution of medical claims. This position plays a critical role in ensuring timely reimbursement, maintaining billing accuracy, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working in a fully remote environment.
Responsibilities: Of The Medical Biller Prepare and submit insurance claims accurately and efficiently. Review claims for completeness and compliance with payer requirements. Follow up on denied, rejected, or unpaid claims. Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies. Post payments and adjustments accurately. Monitor accounts receivable and outstanding balances. Communicate with insurance carriers regarding claim status and appeals. Verify insurance eligibility and benefits as needed. Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality. Assist with reporting and revenue cycle improvement initiatives. Required Experience/Skills For The Medical Biller 2+ years of medical billing experience. Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding terminology. Experience with commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid billing. Familiarity with claim submission, payment posting, and denial management. Proficiency with EMR/EHR and medical billing software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Preferred Experience/Skills For The Medical Biller Experience working in a healthcare startup or high-growth environment. Medical Billing Certification (CBCS, CMRS, or equivalent) is preferred. Experience with telehealth billing processes. Advanced Excel and reporting capabilities. Knowledge of revenue cycle optimization best practices.
Education Requirements: High school diploma or GED is required. Associate's degree in Medical Billing & Coding, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred.
