Bus Driver - Route and/or Extracurricular Activites

Responsibilities: Safely operate a school bus, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Transport students to and from school, ensuring timely arrivals and departures. Assist students in boarding and exiting the bus, ensuring their safety at all times. Maintain a clean and organized bus interior, performing routine inspections and maintenance checks. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding transportation schedules and any changes. Monitor student behavior on the bus to ensure a safe and respectful environment. Support extracurricular activities by providing transportation for sports events, field trips, and other school-related functions. Complete necessary paperwork, including daily logs, incident reports, and maintenance records. Attend training sessions and meetings as required to stay current with safety protocols and regulations. Respond promptly to emergencies or unforeseen circumstances, ensuring student safety at all times.

Requirements: Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for passenger transport (P&S).High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience driving a bus or large vehicle preferred. Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with children and parents. Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations. Physical ability to assist students as needed and perform routine bus maintenance tasks. Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends for extracurricular activities. First Aid and CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain. Background check and drug screening required.
