Senior Accountant Indianapolis Hybrid 3/2 split office / home Global Manufacturing Organization Join a Growing Finance TeamA well-established global manufacturer is looking for a motivated Senior Accountant to join its growing team. The role is central to the company's financial operations. You'll oversee key accounting functions, make sure financial reporting is accurate, and supervise the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams. Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant provides general accounting support across North American operations. Key responsibilities include general ledger accounting, month-end and year-end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, inventory and cost accounting, fixed assets, intercompany transactions and audit support.
Key Responsibilities:
General Accounting & Financial Reporting Reconcile sub-ledger accounts to general ledger balances Prepare and review monthly balance sheet account reconciliations Perform monthly balance sheet, income statement and budget variance analyses Prepare monthly financial statements, reports and management analyses Support all financial reporting activities Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, depreciation, payroll, intercompany transactions and other month-end adjustments Review A/R and A/P balances and approve batches before posting Review collection activity and help research and reconcile discrepancies Keep Payment on Account (POA) balances to a minimum Monitor and maintain the Accounts Payable Aging Report Set up and maintain new customer accounts Process order hold release requests Fixed Assets, Tax & Compliance Maintain and reconcile fixed asset records Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and schedules Prepare state sales and use tax filings Assist with tax return preparation Complete government census reporting requirements
Additional Responsibilities: Take on special projects and other accounting assignments as needed
Qualifications:
Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS and financial analysis functions Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Preferred Experience with ERP systems such as Epicor CMS and/or Sage Experience with Power BI, Power Query or other financial reporting and analytics tools Manufacturing industry accounting experience
