About the role
Soundview Legal Recruiting is assisting a leading national law firm in its search for an experienced Commercial Litigation Associate in its Los Angeles office. The firm's Commercial Litigation Practice Group is growing its Los Angeles team and wants an associate who is ready to own high-stakes business disputes in state and federal court. The ideal candidate is a persuasive legal writer and oral advocate who can independently run depositions, argue motions, and manage matters end to end, working closely with partners and clients.
The Role:
- Shaping litigation strategy and running key parts of cases with minimal oversight
- Overseeing discovery from initial requests through document production
- Researching and drafting pleadings, dispositive motions, and other court filings
- Conducting and defending depositions and preparing witnesses for testimony
- Participating in settlement conferences, negotiations, and trial preparation
Requirements:
- 4–6 years of complex commercial litigation experience
- Persuasive legal writing and research skills are a must
- Deposition and motion argument experience is required; trial preparation experience is a plus
- Top academic credentials are necessary; active California Bar membership required
